Laser Therapy in Scottsdale
I chose to offer low-level laser therapy at the practice, as there’s overwhelming evidence that the therapy is effective for various conditions. One study that got my attention was that laser therapy reduced pain by up to 30% percent in a single treatment.

At Abundant Health Arizona, we use the Erchonia® EVRL Class 2 laser because it includes both the red light and purple light. Studies show that having the two frequencies together produces better outcomes and makes the healing time faster.
Conditions It Can Address
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been proven to be successful in treating a myriad of medical conditions with no side effects. These conditions include
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Chronic joint pain
- Chronic neck & shoulder pain
- Chronic non-healing wounds
- Concussions/TBI injuries
- Degenerative conditions
- Muscle strains and tears
- Neuropathy
- Post-surgical pain
- Sports injuries (e.g. sprains and strains)
- Tendon and ligament injuries
How Does Laser Therapy Work?
The main action of the laser is that it gives your cells increased energy, so they can do the job of healing. The laser we use is primarily known for reducing pain, and it’s the first laser to be cleared by the FDA to specifically be used for pain. With laser therapy, tissues heal faster, and people can therefore experience relief quicker.
What to Expect
After we do all the diagnostics (i.e. the orthopedic testing and neurological testing), Dr. Carla will shine the laser on the affected area. It may also be applied to your spine to affect the nerves that go to the affected area. You will sit comfortably while we apply the laser for 10-20 minutes.
Some Patient Success Stories
One patient came in with neuropathy, and for him it was a 24/7 type of nerve discomfort. We saw him twice a week for eight weeks. After the third or fourth treatment, the man reported he was having good days and finally getting some relief.
A patient, who rides horses, came in with chronic shoulder pain. She had micro-tears and injuries. After just one laser treatment, the patient reported the shoulder wasn’t bothering her anymore.
“With this laser, there are other settings we can use to upregulate focus, attention and mental acuity,” said Dr. Carla. One of her patients is a golfer, and Dr. Carla uses our laser to do brain protocol, which helps the patient with her golf game.
